Wednesday's Powerball jackpot increases to $449,000,000; Three tickets won the second prize

The Powerball multi-state lottery jackpot increased to $449,000,000 (cash value $$203.9 million) Wednesday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $426,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, August 4th, 2025 were 08, 09, 19, 31, 38 with Power Ball 21.

While there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, some people still walked away with huge prizes. There were three lucky tickets matched all five numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) bought in PA(1) and VT(1) won 1 million dollar cash. The other one second prize winner(s) from TX also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!

Other major winners Monday night included 9 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 2 additional players not only matched 4+1, but in addition purchased the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!

With nine prize tiers, the Monday night's drawing generated 516,950 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.

Powerball is an American popular lottery game can be played in 44 member states as a shared jackpot game. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the original winnings except jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments in 29 years. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
