Monday's Powerball jackpot jumps to $44,000,000; Two second prize tickets sold

The grand prize in America's favorite Powerball lottery game continues to grow exciting players all across the nation. Because no one correctly hit all 6 numbers in Monday's drawing the jackpot will climb to a projected $44,000,000! The cash option will be an estimated $$21.9 million up for grab. The numbers from Saturday, August 24th, 2024 drawing were 05, 15, 21, 24, 43 with Power Ball number 17.
Although the jackpot was not awarded Saturday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There were two tickets that matched the first 5 lotto numbers and won the second prize. The two lucky ticket(s) sold in MI(1) and WA(1), each won 1 million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

These lucky ticket holders will collect $10,000 cash each. A ticket sold in Florida matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball with Power Play option purchased. The lucky ticket holder will collect $40,000. 83 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. 22 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With 9 prize tiers, there were a total of 432,744 tickets nationwide won a total of $0 prizes in the Saturday, August 24th, 2024 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play Powerball, choose 5 numbers from a set of 69 and choose 1 Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments. Winners can select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
