Powerball jackpot breaks to $80,000,000 Monday; One ticket matched the first 5 numbers

The lottery official announced that the Saturday, August 31st, 2024, POWERBALL's drawing resulted in a roll-over, creating a $80,000,000 grand prize for the next drawing Monday. The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $$39.5 million up for grab. The winning numbers drawn Saturday night, August 31st, 2024 were 04-34-35-38-69 with Power Ball 19.
Although the jackpot was not hit Saturday evening, Powerball had some huge winners. There was only one ticket that matched all five lotto numbers and won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in CA won $1 million cash.
Other major winners Saturday night included 10 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 2 additional players not only matched 4+1, and also purchased the Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! In addition, 222 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. Powerball can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Powerball lottery uses a 5/69+1/26 matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the winnings except grand prize. The odds of winning is about 1 to 32.
