The jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $260,000,000

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Saturday, when Powerball lottery has $260,000,000 on the line. The cash option stands at an estimated $$123 million up for grab. Powerball's jackpot increased since no one hit all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number drawn Wednesday night. The numbers from Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 drawing were 01-23-25-28-61 and Powerball was 13.
Though there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. 15 3rd prize winning tickets were sold across the nation. There were 3 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 213 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 72 additional players not only matched 4 white ball, but in addition chose the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 608 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 240 additional players not just matched 3+1, but also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.
There were 39,370 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. One ticket sold in Florida matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Powerball. The lucky ticket holder will collect $10,000 cash. There was a single lucky Florida player matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball with Power Play and won $40,000. 69 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. There were 22 lucky Floridaers won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With 9 different prize levels, the Wednesday night's drawing created 444,307 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball lottery can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play, which increases the prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners may select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
