No jackpot ticket sold. Powerball jackpot climbs to $500,000,000 Wednesday night

The Powerball multi-state lottery jackpot went to $500,000,000 (cash option $$240.7 million) Wednesday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $477,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, December 11th, 2023 were 01, 24, 27, 31, 62 with Power Ball 20. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 26 draws since Saturday, October 14th, 2023. A single lucky winner from California walked away with 1,730,000,000 grand prize in Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 drawing.
While there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. A total of 14 lucky winners won the 3rd prize with or without Power Play option. 4 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
Also, 295 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 86 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Monday evening included 681 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $100. 204 additional tickets at this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
There were 46,260 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. One ticket sold in Florida matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball. The lucky ticket holder will collect $10,000 cash. 95 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. There were 27 lucky Florida players won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were a total of 538,272 tickets across U.S. won $0 prizes in the Monday, December 11th, 2023 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. To play Powerball, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 69 then pick a Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the original prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
