Powerball jackpot moves to $69,000,000; 1 ticket matched the first five numbers

The Powerball grand prize has been pumped up to $69,000,000 (cash value $$32.2 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Wednesday night. The grand prize amount has been rolled over since no player hit all 5 white ball numbers plus the Powerball number to take the $55,000,000 grand prize Monday night. The winning numbers from Monday, December 16th, 2024 drawing were 09, 30, 33, 57, 61 with Power Ball 17.
While there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There was a single ticket that matched all 5 numbers and won the second prize. The one second prize ticket(s) from CO matched all 5 white ball numbers and also chose Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
Other prizes won Monday night included 4 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 2 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
There were 26,813 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. There was a single lucky Florida winner matched 4 white ball numbers and also the Powerball and won $10,000. 48 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will collect $100 each. There were 14 lucky Florida players won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With 9 prize tiers, the Monday night's drawing produced 280,960 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play, which increases the prizes but not jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot starts at $40,000,000.
