Saturday's Powerball jackpot builds to $145,000,000; One player won the second prize

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize rolled up to $145,000,000 (cash value $$66.2 million) Saturday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $117,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers from Wednesday, December 25th, 2024 drawing were 15, 26, 27, 30, 35 with Power Ball number 03.
While there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There was a single lucky player that matched all 5 white ball numbers and won the second prize. The one second prize ticket(s) from NJ matched all 5 white ball numbers and also chose Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
Other prizes won Wednesday night included 11 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
With 9 different prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing generated 471,333 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is an American popular lottery game sold in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a shared jackpot game. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the original prizes except grand prize. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40,000,000.
