Powerball jackpot rolls up to $161 million Wednesday night; 1 ticket won the second prize

There has been another carry over in the grand prize for the multistate Powerball lottery - to $161 million. The cash option stands at an estimated $116.1 million up for grab. The jackpot grew because nobody matched all 5 white ball numbers plus the Powerball number from Saturday night's $150 million drawing. The winning numbers from Saturday, July 17th, 2021 drawing were 15, 22, 38, 54, 66 and Powerball number was 03. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past ten draws since Wednesday, June 16th, 2021. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in , matched all six numbers for a $31.00 million top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Saturday evening, Powerball had some big winners. There was only one lucky winner matched all 5 lotto numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in Pennsylvania won 1 million dollar cash.
In addition, 12 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. There were 4 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Additional prizes won Saturday night included 297 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 87 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, and also bought the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! 735 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. These tickets are also each worth $100. There were 207 tickets matched 3+1 with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to win a total win of $200 each.
There were 57,238 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. There was a single lucky Florida winner matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 93 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. There were 20 lucky Florida players won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With 9 different prize tiers, the Saturday night's drawing produced 627,437 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball lottery can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
