Powerball jackpot leaps to $279,000,000 Monday, March 3rd, 2025; 1 player won the second prize

Nobody won Saturday night's Powerball drawing, worth $272,000,000, bringing the projected jackpot on Monday to $279,000,000. The cash value stands at a projected $$131.5 million up for grab. The winning numbers from Saturday, March 1st, 2025 drawing were 02, 23, 36, 44, 49 and Powerball was 25.
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There was only one second prize winner from Saturday night's drawing, matching the first five numbers except the Powerball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in MI will collect $1 million cash.
In addition, 11 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! There were 106 lucky Floridaers won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. There were 24 lucky Floridaers won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.

America's favorite Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. To play, choose 5 numbers from a set of 69 then select 1 Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2.
