The jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $521,000,000

Saturday's Powerball game jackpot is going to be worth $521,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$249.6 million), because no one matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's drawing. The numbers drawn Wednesday night, March 6th, 2024 were 06, 19, 28, 44, 60 with Power Ball number 10. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 28 draws since Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a 810,000,000 top prize.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There were a total of 14 3rd prize winners. These included 10 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000.
Also, 329 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 106 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 922 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 302 additional players not just matched 3+1, but also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
There were 63,000 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. A single ticket sold in Florida matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Powerball. The lucky ticket holder will collect $10,000 cash. There were 112 lucky Florida players won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. There were 42 lucky Florida winners won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With nine different prize levels, the Wednesday night's drawing created 683,807 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Power Play, which multiplies the prizes but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball grand prize is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout instead.
