Wednesday's Powerball jackpot goes to $865,000,000; 2 second prize tickets sold

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Wednesday, when Powerball game has $865,000,000 on the line. The cash option will be a projected $$416.1 million. Powerball's jackpot increased because no one matched all five white ball numbers and the Powerball number drawn Monday night. The winning numbers from Monday night, March 25th, 2024 were 07-11-19-53-68 and Powerball number was 23. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 36 draws since Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a 810,000,000 top prize.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Monday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There were 2 lucky winners matched all 5 lotto numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Florida(1) and New York(1) won $1 million cash.

Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play Powerball, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 69 then pick one Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Power Play option, which multiplies the original prizes except grand prize. The overall odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The chances of winning Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments.
