Powerball jackpot builds to $437,000,000 Saturday night; Four second prize tickets sold

The jackpot in the multi-state Powerball lottery drawing went to $437,000,000 for the Saturday drawing. The cash option will be a projected $$210.3 million. No ticket sold for Wednesday's $408,000,000 drawing hit six numbers. The numbers drawn Wednesday night, October 16th, 2024 were 04, 30, 39, 44, 60 and Powerball was 11. The Powerball grand prize has been rolling over for 25 draws since Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. A single lucky winner from CA walked away with 44,000,000 grand prize in Monday, August 19th, 2024 drawing.
Even though the jackpot was not awarded Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There were four 2nd prize winners from Wednesday night's drawing, matching all five numbers but not the Powerball number. The four second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in CA(1), IL(2) and WA(1) will collect $1 million cash.
Also, 18 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 4 additional players not just matched 4+1, but in addition bought the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other winners Wednesday night included 260 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 95 additional players not only matched 4 white ball, but additionally bought the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! 789 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. These tickets are also each worth $100. There were 252 tickets matched 3+1 with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to win a total win of $200 each.
There were 52,906 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. There were 4 lucky Florida players matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There was one lucky Floridaer matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball with Power Play and won $40,000. There were 90 lucky Florida winners won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 31 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 634,854 tickets across U.S. won a total of $0 prizes in the Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 drawing.
Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The odds of matching 6 Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000.
