Monday's Powerball jackpot leaps to $456,000,000; 2 tickets won the second prize

The Powerball multi-state lottery jackpot moved to $456,000,000 (cash value $$219.9 million) Monday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $437,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers from Saturday night, October 19th, 2024 were 07, 16, 19, 45, 64 and Powerball number was 25. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 26 draws since Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in CA, matched all six numbers for a 44,000,000 top prize.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Saturday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were 2 2nd prize winning tickets from Saturday night's Powerball drawing, matching the first 5 lotto numbers but not the Powerball number. The 2 lucky ticket(s) bought in CA(1) and PA(1), each won 1 million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional major winners Saturday evening included 25 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 4 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other winners Saturday evening included 402 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 125 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but also chose the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Saturday evening included 1098 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $100. 312 additional tickets of this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
There were 65,887 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of Florida. A single ticket sold in Florida matched 4 lotto numbers plus the Powerball with Power Play option purchased. The lucky ticket holder will receive $40,000. There were 116 lucky Florida players won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 36 tickets were sold in the state of Florida which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will receive $200 each.
With nine prize tiers, the Saturday night's drawing generated 790,006 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the original prizes except grand prize. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32.
