Powerball jackpot leaps to $165,000,000 Monday; 1 second prize ticket sold

The lottery official announced that the Saturday, September 14th, 2024, POWERBALL's drawing resulted in a roll-over, creating a $165,000,000 jackpot for the next drawing Monday. The cash option stands at a projected $$83.8 million up for grab. The winning numbers from Saturday, September 14th, 2024 drawing were 29-34-38-48-56 and Powerball number was 16.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a single second prize winner from Saturday night's Powerball drawing, matching all five white ball numbers except the Powerball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CO won 1 million dollar cash.
Additional prizes won Saturday night included 9 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 6 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Also, 298 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 94 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 724 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 207 additional players not only matched 3+1, and also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.

Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the winnings except jackpot. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32.
