Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $97,000,000 Tuesday, April 9th, 2024; 3 players won the second prize

The Mega Millions game jackpot has been pumped up to a projected $97,000,000 (cash option $$45 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Tuesday night. The grand prize amount has been carried over because no one hit all 6 winning numbers to take the $67,000,000 jackpot Friday night. The winning numbers from Friday, April 5th, 2024 drawing were 20-30-54-63-65 with Mega Ball 14 and Megaplier x3.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There were 3 lucky winners matched all 5 lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 3 lucky ticket(s) purchased in CA,FL,PA, each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other major winners Friday night included 12 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Friday night included 260 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 792 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine different ways to win, there were a total of 1,331,824 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, April 5th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times except jackpot.
