Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot goes to $374,000,000; Two tickets matched the first five numbers

There were no Mega Millions lottery jackpot winners for Friday's $358,000,000 dollar drawing, so the jackpot will leap to a projected $374,000,000 with the cash value at a projected $$183.9 million Tuesday, August 6th, 2024. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, August 2nd, 2024 were 06, 07, 24, 44, 54 with Mega Ball 13 and Megaplier X4. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for seventeen draws since Friday, June 7th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $560 million top prize.
While the grand prize was not hit Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were two lucky players that correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers and won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA,WA will collect $1,000,000 cash each.
Other major winners Friday evening included 17 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 374 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 1165 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 1,612,596 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, August 2nd, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game sold in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a shared jackpot game. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prize winnings. Approximately 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and choose a Mega Ball number from a set of 25. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one time lump sum cash payout instead.
