The Mega Millions game grand prize increased because no one hit all six winning numbers from Tuesday night's $760,000,000 drawing. The next jackpot jumped to $825,000,000 for Friday night's drawing. The lump-sum cash payout will be $$382.2 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 drawing were 56-66-67-68-69 with Mega Ball number 18 and Megaplier x4. The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling over for 28 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in TX, matched all six numbers for a $800 million top prize.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There were four lucky players that correctly matched all five numbers and won the second prize. The four second prize winning ticket(s) sold in CA(2),LA,OK won $1,000,000 cash each.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 38 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other winners Tuesday night included 1249 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1965 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were 3,205,442 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
