Enormous Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

The grand prize for Friday Mega Millions went to $607,000,000 (cash option $$286.9 million) after nobody matched all six numbers Tuesday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, February 27th, 2024 were 06, 18, 26, 27, 49 with Mega Ball number 04 and Megaplier x3.

Even though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There was only one lucky winner correctly matched the first five lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in FL won $1,000,000 cash each.

Also, 21 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 518 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1566 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.

With 9 prize levels, there were 2,035,674 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, February 27th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players in prize winnings. Roughly 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions uses a 5/70+1/25 system from which winning numbers are chosen. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
