There were no Mega Millions game grand prize winners for Tuesday's $140,000,000 dollar drawing, so the grand prize will increase to $150,000,000 with the cash option at $$67.3 million Friday, April 24th, 2026. The numbers from Tuesday night, April 21st, 2026 were 01, 36, 43, 56, 58 with Mega Ball number 07 and Megaplier . There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 112 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Though the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were a total of 5 3rd prize winners. These included 5 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 94 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 287 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize levels, there were 469,520 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, April 21st, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
