One lucky ticket in IL matched all 6 numbers in the Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 drawing and won the $560,000,000 jackpot. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night, June 4th, 2024 were 19, 37, 40, 63, 69 with Mega Ball number 17 and Megaplier X3. The winner can either take a cash option worth $258.4 million before taxes, or decide to receive 30-year annuity option with yearly payment in the amount of $21.54 million before taxes. The winning ticket holder is encouraged to sign the ticket, place it in a secure place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to select the cash value of the jackpot while claiming the prize. If the winner does not make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.

In addition to the grand prize awarded on Tuesday, Mega Millions generated more pleased winners walked away with huge pile of cash. There were two lucky winners matched the first 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments.
