Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $72 million; One ticket won the second prize

There were no tickets sold hit all 5 lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number in the last multi-state Mega Millions lottery draw, and the estimated grand prize for Friday's drawing will move to $72 million, lottery officials announced. The cash value will be $50.2 million up for grab. The winning numbers from Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 drawing were 07-38-50-52-69 and the Mega Ball was 21, Megaplier was 3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 383 draws since Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in New York, matched all six numbers for a $104 million top prize.
While there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single lucky winner matched all five white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in will collect $1,000,000 cash each.
Other prizes won Tuesday night included 9 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 210 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 627 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 ways to win, there were 924,624 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prize winnings. Around 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may select one lump sum cash payout instead.
