Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $687,000,000; Two second prize tickets sold

Friday's Mega Millions game grand prize increased to $687,000,000, since nobody matched all six winning numbers drawn Tuesday night. The cash value for Friday stands at a projected $$332.3 million up for grab. Tuesday's $650,000,000 is the total grand prize amount - before taxes - if the prize is taken in annuity. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, March 5th, 2024 were 02-49-50-61-70 and the Mega Ball was 14, Megaplier was 2.
While the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There were two lucky tickets correctly matched all 5 lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The two lucky ticket(s) bought in CA,MI, each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Also, 19 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other winners Tuesday night included 538 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1444 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine different ways to win, there were a total of 2,348,990 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. It holds the record largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 then select a Mega Ball number from a set of 25. Each play costs $1.
