The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery game continues to climb exciting players all across the country. Because nobody correctly matched all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number in Tuesday's drawing the grand prize will climb to a projected $80,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $$35.6 million. The winning numbers from Friday, March 27th, 2026 drawing were 13, 27, 28, 41, 62 and the Mega Ball was 16, Megaplier was . No one won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 105 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Even though the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single 2nd prize winner from Friday night's drawing, matching the first five white ball numbers except the Mega Ball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in won a quarter million dollar cash each.
In addition, 6 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other winners Friday night included 93 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. 260 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were a total of 308,200 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, March 27th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game sold in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. Around 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize.
