Huge Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Because no player correctly matched all six winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing, the jackpot will climb to a projected $393,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout will be $$181.5 million. The numbers from Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 drawing were 13-19-43-62-64 with Mega Ball number 06 and Megaplier x3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 14 draws since Friday, March 29th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in NJ, matched all six numbers for a $0 million top prize.
Although the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There was only one lucky player that matched the first 5 numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one lucky ticket(s) sold in FL, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
In addition, 17 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional winners Tuesday evening included 345 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. There were 889 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 1,497,258 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states and Washington DC. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prizes. Roughly 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from a set of 70 then select 1 Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. The overall odds of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The odds of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
