Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $560,000,000 Tuesday, June 4th, 2024; 1 ticket won the second prize

FL Mega Millions News and Payout for Friday, May 31st, 2024 Drawing
The grand prize in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been rolled up to $560,000,000. The cash option will be $$258.4 million. The prize amount was rolled over since no player hit all six numbers in Friday's $522,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions game drawing is Tuesday night. The numbers from Friday, May 31st, 2024 drawing were 04-11-23-33-49 and the Mega Ball was 23, Megaplier was 4. The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 19 draws since Friday, March 29th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in NJ, matched all six numbers for a $0 million top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There was only one second prize winner from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers except the Mega Ball number. The 1 lucky ticket(s) bought in CA, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other prizes won Friday evening included 27 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 583 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 1358 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were 1,829,144 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, May 31st, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record biggest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prize winnings. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
