There was no ticket sold hit all five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number in the last multi-state Mega Millions draw, and the estimated jackpot for Tuesday's drawing will rise to $129,000,000, lottery officials announced. The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $$62.3 million up for grab. The numbers from Friday, October 4th, 2024 drawing were 21-39-42-43-45 and the Mega Ball was 03, Megaplier was 2. Nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past seven draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in TX, matched all six numbers for a $800 million top prize.
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. 10 3rd prize winning tickets were sold across the nation. Among them, 10 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other prizes won Friday night included 185 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 638 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine ways to win, there were 998,332 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, October 4th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and D.C. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prize winnings. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
