The Mega Millions game jackpot is on the move again. The jackpot for the Tuesday, September 16th, 2025 drawing leaps to $400,000,000 with the cash option at $$185.8 million. The winning numbers from Friday, September 12th, 2025 drawing were 17-18-21-42-64 with Mega Ball number 07 and Megaplier .
While there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. A total of 6 lucky players won the 3rd prize. These included 6 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday night included 165 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 572 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 676,068 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, September 12th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record highest jackpot in North American lottery history. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players in prizes. About 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The chances of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions jackpot are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can choose one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
