There was no ticket sold matched all 6 winning numbers in the latest multi-state Mega Millions game draw, and the projected jackpot for Tuesday's drawing will move to $93,000,000, lottery officials announced. The cash value stands at an estimated $$46 million. The numbers from Friday night, September 27th, 2024 were 29, 46, 53, 69, 70 and the Mega Ball was 23, Megaplier was 2.
Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There were a total of 6 third prize winners. These included 6 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 181 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 420 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 797,002 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, September 27th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players in prizes. About 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The chances of winning are about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
