One winner from IL won $1,000,000,000 grand prize from the Powerball drawing Wednesday night

A single winner has taken the $1,000,000,000 jackpot from the most recent drawing of the multistate Powerball game. The only ticket to match all the winning numbers from Wednesday night's drawing was purchased in IL. The numbers from Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 drawing were 04, 26, 66, 67, 69 with Power Ball 09. The jackpot winner will now have to determine to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or the one time cash lump-sum in the amount of $433.1 million before tax withholding. The jackpot winner is encouraged to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place and get in touch with lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to choose the cash value of the jackpot while claimng the prizes. If the winner does not make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
